Saicoo Card Reader Driver Download Mac

Given that USB card readers don't usually need separately-installed drivers, so I'll assume that this particular reader is a CAC reader.

I purchased a Saicoo Card Reader v2 but my MacBook (El Capitan OS X 10.11.6) will not recognise it. I have dowloaded the drivers from the website, restarted the Mac, reconnected the device. Preferences in Finder are set to recognise but it does not show up. Any fixes out there? Pulling my hair out. I will never buy another MacBook. Saicoo DOD Military USB Common Access CAC Smart Card Reader compatible with Mac OS Win CAC Card reader V3. And occasionally, the time it takes to offload large files is critical. I suspect it to be the driver for my card reader rt5161/5169 but I'm not sure.

Saicoo indicates that both Oracle Java is required before launching the provided installer, and that there's a separately-acquired 'enabler' software package also required.

I do not know about the 'third-party CAC Enabler program' that Saicoo lists as being necessary. The organization that you're using this CAC reader with will probably know about this enabler requirement, too.


In general, I'd contact the vendor's technical support for assistance here, as well as the folks that support the organization you're using the CAC reader with. Failing resolution with the Saicoo reader, consider returning the device to the vendor for a refund, and acquire a device with (better) support for macOS.
