VST 2.0 OBS Plugin for Compressor and Limiter. Finally, we want to add our compressor at the end of our audio processing chain. The compressor may have the most noticeable audio effect (depending on how your EQ turned out). The compressor can smooth out your entire performance and help stop your audio from peaking. OBS Studio includes a ton of audio filters already and can give you really great results, but what if I told you we can take it one step further? OBS Studio supports VST Plugins, one of the most popular Free VST Plugins source is Reaper, also known as ReaPlugs VST FX Suite, You can find ReaPlugs here (Get it here). I have plenty of VST plug-ins installed, I can see them in carla. I also installed the reaper vst plugins in wine and the 64-bit reaper vst plugins with wine64. Please suggest on how to get this working with OBS or the best way to verify at least some my VST plug-ins are working (typically I prefer the free native lv2 plug-ins). Download Voxengo Marvel GEQ Equalizer “Marvel GEQ is a linear-phase 16-band graphic equalizer AU and VST plugin with multi-channel operation support (supporting up to 8 input/output channels, audio host application-dependent) for professional music production applications.
OBS Studio is open-source software, which means that almost anyone can develop add-ons and plugins for it. For streamers, this can be incredibly helpful. Sometimes a streamer needs additional functionality that isn’t built directly into OBS Studio, so the open-source functionality of OBS Studio lends itself well to this need.
OBS’s implementation of VST support is not without its bugs. Many plugins will outright lock up the program, especially in the many forks available for the streaming software. For example, my second pick, Melda Productions Free FX Bundle, will simply not work with Streamlabs OBS, at least the last time I tried it.
With that said, there are plenty of options for add-ons and plugins depending on your needs. So let's talk about our choices for the three best OBS plugins!
A developer who goes by the name Palakis has created a plugin called “OBS-NDI” available here.
What this plugin does is allow a TWO PC stream setup without having to buy any capture cards or adapters. If you were looking to up your streaming setup game, OBS NDI is a very easy and free way to do so. The basic requirement for any of the PCs used with NDI is any CPU that supports Supplemental SSE3 instruction set (SSSE3). If you’d like to check if your CPU supports this instruction set, head on over to CPUworld , search your model CPU, and look under “Extensions and Technologies.”
If this plugin sounds familiar, it's because we have a complete guide on setting it up! If you’d like to check out this plugin, feel free to check out our guide!
Palakis has developed yet another OBS plugin, and this one is called OBS Websocket.
The OBS Websocket plugin allows other programs to control the scene selection, source selection, etc. What this means is you can gain functionality similar to what an Elgato Stream Deck offers by utilizing this plugin in combination with a program called Touch Portal!
The only requirement to use it is a compatible Android or iOS device to turn into your low-cost Stream Deck alternative!
OBS Websocket link here
Touch Portal website link here
Click the download button on the page from the link above
Using the installer (recommended, works only with combined 32/64-bit installations) : download it, launch it and follow the instructions.
Using the obs-websocket-4.6.1-Windows.zip archive : copy the contents of the archive to the root of your OBS Studio installation folder (either C:Program Filesobs-studio or C:Program Files (x86)obs-studio).
The bottom of the page lists the following:
Select the version that applies to you (most likely the Windows-Installer one) and follow the above instructions.
Then for Touch Portal, they provide their instructions right here.
You can also find many additional tutorials and guides for Touch Portal usage right here!
A big part of streaming is making sure your audio sounds as good as possible. No matter what, if your audio is sub-par, people won’t want to stay. Many people say that the most important part of good video is excellent audio, and this stands true with streaming as well. OBS Studio includes many great audio filters already, and configuring them can yield some fantastic results. However, this article is about plugins and VST Plugns for audio can take things to another level beyond what OBS Studio is capable of without plugins.
VST Plugins can allow you to control microphone EQ, compression, control peaking, control background noise, and generally clean up and improve your audio. One of the most popular sources of free VST plugins is Reaper, available here. You’ll want to make sure to download the “ReaPlugs VST FX Suite” and download the correct 32-bit or 64-bit package that is compatible with your OS. More than likely it’ll be 64-bit.
Once downloaded, go ahead and run through the installer. Adding a VST plug-in through your OBS microphone device filters will now show a drop down list of the ReaPlug VST plug-ins!
At this point, you can test the different VSTs and see what mix of ReaPlug VSTs and at what settings can get you the best sounding audio out of your microphone! For additional information on VST plug-ins, Reaper/ReaPlug, and how to set them up, there are additional tutorials available here and here.

OBS Studio is a free and open source software made for live streaming and video recording. It’s available on Windows, Mac and Linux. As OBS Studio is open source, almost anyone can develop plugins for the software. This is especially important for streamers who use this software everyday as plugins can improve functionality of OBS Studio
Now that we know what’s OBS Studio and why we need plugins, let’s get to the list of our five best OBS plugins (you might find some bonus stuff too????)
StreamFX is a plugin developed by Xaymar , you can find it here (StreamFX)
This plugin adds some really important functionality like Blur and 3D Transform. Now you can blur out sources you think maybe questionable to your stream, add 3D effects to your stream. Possibilities are endless.
Let us talk about some of its highlighted features
Blur: This filter comes with various types of blur (Box, Gaussian, Dual Filtering) and even goes an extra mile by allowing you to choose how you want the blur to be applied (Area, Directional, Rotating/Rolling, Zoom) and also lets you mask out the area you want to be blurred based on various types of masks.
Displacement Mapping: Displace the pixels of the Source, in any way you want – create a whirl, zoom in and more.
Source Mirror: Source Mirror duplicates the video and optionally also the audio of any source, allowing you to apply filters to either without affecting the original source. It also can rescale the video to fit your target region using any of the obs supported scaling modes. There is no limit on the number of Source Mirrors you create for one source, so go wild!
3D Transform: a filter for you to use, move, rotate, scale and shear your Source in 3D space at will! Create reflections of your video camera on a floor, table, or place your video camera in a room – the possibilities are endless and you can choose what you want to do!
OBS.Live is created by folks over at StreamElements, you can find it here (Download OBS.Live)
This plugin adds integrated StreamElements Activity Feed, Chat and integrates OBS Studio with StreamElements seamlessly.
OBS.Live lets you see how many viewers you have, Manage Alerts, refresh overlays, have Media Requests and much more.
It works with YouTube, Twitch, Mixer, and Facebook.
OBS WebSocket (+ Deckboard, Touch Portal)
OBS WebSocket is developed by Palakis , you can find it here (OBS WebSocket Plugin)
This plugin allows other programs to connect to OBS to offer more functionality
Vst Plugin Streamlabs Obs App
Where do we find apps that’ll get the best of this plugin? We’ve got you covered
We have 2 App suggestions that’ll mimic Elgato’s Stream Deck
Deckboard: Created by Riva Farabi, this app requires an Android Phone and a Windows Computer and is one of the best designed apps I’ve seen over the years. This app has Twitch, Spotify support (it even supports StreamLabs OBS). You can find it here (Deckboard Website)
Touch Portal: Touch portal is another app like deckboard but it’s far more accessible and in some ways superior, this app works with Windows, Mac, Android and iOS. This app works with SLOBS, XSplit, Adobe apps like Photoshop and Premiere Pro, Aseprite and more. You can find it here (Touch Portal Website)
BONUS : You can improve the way Deckboard/TouchPortal looks by using Aurora – Stream Deck Key Icons made by folks over at Nerd or Die ( Get it here )
Closed Captioning OBS Plugin
This plugin is created by GitHub user Ratwithacompiler , you can find it here (GitHub)
This plugin provides Closed Captioning via Google Cloud Speech Recognition API as a standalone OBS Plugin, no other tools required. It integrated with Twitch’s inbuilt CC Support so viewers can click on CC button to enable it the same way it works on Twitch’s self-hosted event streams like TwitchCon and more. You can find instructions to use this plugin from here
This plugin works live and in VODs, no twitch extension required. It’s completely optional to the viewer and Supports multiple Languages. I think this plugin would be one of the best ways to make your streams more accessible.
VST Plugins (ReaPlugs)
Audio is really important when you are streaming or video recording, sometimes people won’t stay if your audio is terrible. It’s one of the most important aspects of Streaming. ReaComp: An Ultra-configurable Compressor with sidechain filters and much more.
ReaEQ: An Unlimited band IIR based equalizer.
Vst Plugin Streamlabs Obs Screen Recorder
ReaGate: An Ultra-configurable gate that’s far superior than the one found on OBS Studio.

LoudMax is available as VST 2.4 and VST 3 Plugin for Windows and Mac OS X, Audio Unit Plugin for Mac OS X, LADSPA Plugin for Linux x86 and as Winamp Plugin.
A SSE2-capable CPU is necessary (Pentium 4 / AMD Athlon 64 or newer) on Windows and Linux.
The Mac OS X Plugins are 'Universal 2 Binaries' with support for Intel Mac and ARM64 based Silicon.
The notarized Mac version was created with the friendly support of the guys from PlugInGuru.
For the users of older MAC OS a legacy version is available. The legacy Audio Unit version was built with Symbiosis from NuEdge Development.
The Linux Plugin has no meters since LADSPA doesn´t support a custom GUI. But it supports 5.1 surround modes. See README file in the LADSPA zip package for further informations.
The Winamp Plugin also supports 5.1 surround. Built-in stereo overdrive protection avoids distortions in a subsequent stereo downmix.
The Winamp Plugin has a simplified user interface. Only one slider for adjusting the maximum amplification. The maximum output level is 0dB.
The GUI was designed by LimeFlavour based on the idea and colorscheme of Sinkmusic.
Thanks to Hannes Druener for using his MacBook and testing.

Inter-Sample Peak Detection:
The higher the frequency, the greater the probability that the true peak will be between two digital audio samples. These true peak overshoots can be up to 3 dB for proper band-limited audio and even much more for pathological signals. This can become a problem not only with poor D/A converters, but also with subsequent sample rate conversions, e.g. from 44.1 to 48 kHz or vice versa, and the use of audio compression such as MP3 or AAC.
For more information see the 'Tutorials' section.
When ISP is turned on, four additional samples are calculated between every two samples present. This reduces true peak overshoots for proper band-limited audio to 0.2 dB and for pathological signals to 0.5 dB.
ITU-R BS.1770: There are coefficients given in this recommendation for the calculation of inter-sample peaks. Unfortunately these coefficients do not seem to be optimal for limiters. They have a negative effect on transients and lead to high overshoots in true peak meters that use higher quality upsampling. Therefore LoudMax uses optimized coefficients that do not affect transients and reduce the overshoots to similar values with all true peak meters tested. The downside is that BS.1770 calibrated true peak meters will also detect overshoots of up to 0.2 dB with LoudMax ISP detection. So if you need to guarantee a true peak level of -1.0 dB for example, set the output level to -1.2 dB or even -1.5 dB.
Using ISP will double the CPU utilization and increase latency by 6 samples.
LoudMax changes the latency dynamically when ISP is switched. Note that most hosts do not adjust latency compensation while playing, but at the next stop/start.
